Solar and batteries
Make more of the electricity you use
Solar panels and a battery work well on their own and even better alongside a heat pump.
Solar panels
We size an array to your roof, its direction and shading, and to how much electricity you use. The aim is to use as much of what you generate as possible, rather than export it cheaply.
With a heat pump, solar covers much of the hot water in spring and summer and takes the edge off heating costs in the shoulder months.
Batteries
A battery stores solar from the day, or cheap overnight electricity on a time-of-use tariff, and uses it in the evening when prices are highest.
Paired with a heat pump and the right tariff, it can shift a large part of your heating and hot water onto cheaper electricity.
Designed together
If you're considering more than one of these, it's worth designing them together. The heat pump's demand, the size of the array and the battery capacity all affect each other, and we'll show you what each part adds before you commit.
